1999 Kia Sprtage Convertible 2 Wheel Drive

all at once my power window, windshield wipers and heater motor will not work. I have checked all fuses and relays and circuit continuity. what i the problem? The three wires coming out of the ignition switch in the steering column have power out of two wires and one is ground, all are good????

Most of the time I need to put and hold my foot down on the gas pedal to start the motor.Wondering if the erg valve could be the blame? 89 f250 5.8 fuel injected. Starts great when cold start. I have a new throttle position sensor , didnt see a way for it to be adjusted

It mabe new but was it setup properly. there is an adjustment on them.
It’s called Preload and dont hold me to it but I think it’s 1/16 of an inch. It’ could be 1/32.

8 lug wheels

I have a 1994 GMC Sierra, 2500 long box truck. 8 lug wheels. A friend of mine has some wheels to give me, that came off a Ford truck. The bolt holes measure the same, but the hub hole is bigger than my GMC hub hole. Will this matter, or will the wheel line up alright with the lug holes, instead of running on the hub?

Response:

1) They WILL work. I’ve cut the center out of GM wheels to use on Dodge and Ford.
2) Should probably work. Make sure the hub is far enough out board to clear the brake calipers on the front.

98 Saturn DOHC 5 speed. Radiator fan will not come on when hot

Have a 98 Saturn DOHC 5 speed. Radiator fan will not come when hot but comes on when AC is used. I replaced the temperature sensor and connector but still no help. The “check engine” warning does not come on. I replaced the temperature sensor and connector. I also verified that there was 5.0 Volts measured at the sensor connector. I allowed the engine to idle until the temperature gauge was somewhat past mid range and coolant (now water) started bubbling out the tank. I turned the AC on and in less that 2 minutes, it had cooled down to near normal. What next?

Response:

Try using a paperclip to short the two terminals of the coolant temp sensor together. If the fan then comes on the problem is with the sensor or the coolant is not contacting the tip of the sensor.

94 chevy astro mini van heat problem

i have this astro mini van when im driving i get good heat but when i at a stop the heat goes to very little heat coming out vents , ive changed the thremostat , it dont over heat . any thoughts on what could be the problem

Response:

A loose drive belt, a glazed belt, a weak water pump, a restricted heater control valve, an internally collasped heater hose, a partially plugged heater core, wrong size heater hoses, a duct or door not opperating correctly, proper T stat.

another thing you should try in the defroster that will not only increase the fan speed but should heat the car alot faster.

there could also be the possibality that your high blower is only working on low all the the time.

I have a 1989 f250 5.8 the hose that hooks to the check valve blew out and where the deverter is connected it melted and the connection came off and hot air from it melted the top of the oil cap am I right in thinking the check valve is clogged and where can I find a diagram of the California emissions system for 1989 f250 5.8

I’m guessing you are referring to the PCV valve that plugs into a grommet on the valve cover. This is a 2 buck item, but if you shake it and hear a rattle, it’s working. Just replace the melted stuff, and connect it back together. As for the CA stuff, Google works for me. Or the dealer should have a copy of it.
check valve allows air or liquid to pass in one direction only. Remove it, blow in both ends. If you can blow thru it from both ends it’s bad, if you can’t blow thru it from either end it’s bad. If you can blow thru it in only one direction, it’s good. As far as the second valve, don’t know what it is.

Maybe he is talking about the EGR valve. Vacuum controlled valve to allow exhaust gas to enter the intake.

The diagram of the emissions control system should be under the hood on a sticker. A dealer can supply a new sticker or photocopy from their manual.

2006 Chevy Cobalt Check Engine Light On

I have a 2006 checy cobalt. the problem is my engine keeps comming on then it will go off. It may be off for 2 days then comes back on even while im driving. Then it may stay on again for couple of days then go off. What could be the problem.

Response:

Get someone to check the codes. Autozone or someplace like that will do it for free. I am just guessing but if you have a lot of miles on this car it could be your cat/converter is starting to be plugged or a sensor going bad. If it’s still under warrenty, the dealership will be the best place to start. Out of warrenty, check or have the engine codes checkrd and then let us know what has been discovered.
Alot of times it could something as simple as a loose gas cap. Theres a sensor that monitors the vacuum pressure and if that cap is loose then it cant keep a vacuum. I would try that…..This is True. Even a Fuel Cap being loose or having a inoperable pressure valve in it can cause this. However, if the vechicle is covered under a warrenty a maintence record is kept and these facts become availible to persons of interest like Car Fax when it is resold and the Consumer Protection Agency for ReCalls and updates.

‘92 Pontiac Transport-Windshiel Wipers will not work

They stopped working about 2 months ago. When I hit a hard bump in the road, they work for a time; but then stop. What could be wrong?

Sounds like a loose connecrtion. Get out your meter. Wiper motors usually last forever. My dad had to have one replaced on a 70’s AMC wagon, and we used to burn them out on our police cars when arriving at a bad accident when it was raining. You bail out leaving all the equipment running, and on a serious injury or fatal, we might be there for a couple hours. In the meantime, it’s stops raining, and the wipers have no lubrication, which loads the motor up and it burns out. In about 55 years of driving 40 vehicles, I’ve never burnt one out.

GM’s Wonderful Pain…. Put it All-in-One, the Turn Signal Switch Assembly!!!! Ao $20 part and it pops out with minimal pressure. Careful with those Hair tin wires ’cause thats what started the mess.

I had a 92 Transport and it did the same thing…it was the wiper motor. Got one at Andy’s on W. Michigan with the whole mechanism and it worked great til the motor gave out for the 2nd time. I miss that van…was very comfy.
