General Motors Co.’s South Korean unit plans to recall about 60,000 units of the Chevrolet Cruze and Captiva in South Korea, the government and the company said on Sunday.

Without being more specific, GM Daewoo Auto & Technology officials said units of the Captiva and Cruze with the same defects would be recalled in overseas markets. The cars are sold in Europe and Russia.

“Every country has different rules and standards and each GM operation will decide the size and timing of recalls of those cars depending on their own situations,” a GM Daewoo official told Reuters by telephone, asking not to be identified.

GM Daewoo officials declined to comment on costs of the recall.

In South Korea, GM Daewoo will recall 45,957 Captiva SUVs, which are sold as the Winstorm, due to defects with the steering system, the Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs said in a statement. The recall affects Captivas made between April 1, 2006 and Dec. 31, 2007.

The company also plans to recall 12,604 units of the Cruze compact sedan, which is sold as the Lacetti Premiere in Korea, due to defects with fuel supply pipes, the ministry said. The recall applies to cars produced between Sept. 25, 2009 and March 2, 2010.

This has gone on so much that I am at wits end. All sensors, ignition coil, fuel pump, fuel filter, and relays have been changed out. I was told to check for the hall effect but that is something that concerns a carborated engine and this one is fuel injected. Fuel pump relay is working as well. What would make the fuel pump shut down? If it stalls you can listen for the pump to kick in and after the 2nd time the car will start. I called a dealer but they want $166 just to look at it. IS there anyone who could and will help me as this is my only car? Thank you to all.

Chrysler Group notified dealers last week that Jeep Wrangler hardtops will be in short supply for several months, citing a “supplier constraint.” 

Chrysler urged dealers to order soft tops. The Wrangler is one of the few popular models in the slow-selling Chrysler lineup. 

“Nobody seems to be able to get hardtops,” and Chrysler has not given a clear explanation, said Troy Allen, owner of Allen Motors in Derry, N.H. 

Allen said a shortage would hurt his sales, since most customers in wintry New England prefer the hard top, a $735 option. 

The tops were built by Meridian Automotive Systems Inc., which filed for Chapter 7 in August 2009. They now are made by Continental Structural Plastics Inc., of suburban Detroit. Continental and Chrysler did not return calls seeking comment.

I have a 2003 Chevy 3500 mini school bus. It has a 5.7 L engine with the Check engine light on. It runs, but seems to miss every now and again, especially when going up hill. The check engine light flashes sometimes and sometimes it goes off.

Summary: We took it to the Auto Repair Shop and they scanned the codes for us. It had no current codes which made sense because the check engine light wasn’t on, but in the History codes there was Code P0300 Misfire Detected. The shop put the bus under load and code see multiple misfires on the scan tool and suggested a complete tune up. It has not had one and has 94,000 miles on it.

Fix:  The shop Replaced my spark plugs, Plug wires, distributor cap and rotor. I’ve been driving it for weeks now and haven’t had a problem since.

all at once my power window, windshield wipers and heater motor will not work. I have checked all fuses and relays and circuit continuity. what i the problem? The three wires coming out of the ignition switch in the steering column have power out of two wires and one is ground, all are good????
