chevy 2500hd diesel wont start. I have replaced the fuel pump

Published by admin under Uncategorized

My chevy 2500hd diesel wont start. I have replaced the fuel pump, fuel line with a ridged one and the fuel tank sensor. The dealer ship just replaces the fuel filter and everything is fine for two or three weeks and then i have to get towed in. Then they replace the fuel filter and we do it again.

Response:

Is the filter or the sensor under the filter coming loose? If not then it could an issue with the filter housing. These have had issue.

It won’t crank this morning. I sprayed starter fluid in the throttle

Published by admin under Uncategorized

The truck has sit all night. It won’t crank this morning. I sprayed starter fluid in the throttle. It ran for a few seconds and quit so it is not getting fuel. What all do I do to get the fuel pump working? It can’t be over heating becauseseveral times it dies shortly after I start out in the truck. I can’t afford another pump right now. Is there a switch that tells the pump when to work? Can I put a ? voltage to the pump from a plug under the hood without taking the pump out to see if it works when voltage is applied. I had it replaces in December 2008. Can ya help me get an online manual or a manual for my 2001 ranger 4wd (For Free)?

Answer:

Replacing the fuel filter may get you 1 to 3 more psi which may allow the engine to run, but you will need to replace the fuel pump from the sound of it. You need 30 psi at idle.

If you look in your owners manual under fuses and relays, you will find the fuel pump relay listed. You can apply power this way to the fuel pump. If you purchased the pump from Autozone, then that is about as long as you can expect it to work.

If the pump kicks on and provides 30 psi when power is applied, then the relay may be bad.

 Switches and relays

If you visit here: Free Manual Request and follow the instructions, you should be able to get what you are looking for. You can only get sections of the manual for free. If you want full manual access, the charge there is 11.99, but you can see it all online…

My speedometer stopped working on my 1999 c2500, i’ve replaced the speed sensor. What else might I try?

Published by admin under Uncategorized

Try this.

1) disconnect the positive battery cable

2) turn key to “ON” position

3) touch positive cable to positive battery terminal, hold for 5 seconds and pull away.

4) repeat step 3 4 to 5 times

5) Turn Key off and reconnect battery.

6) Start truck

if everything seems to work again, it may last a while for you or it may go back to not working. In this case replacement of the Gauge Cluster will need to be done. Dealer only as the Odometer has to be reset to the same as the one you have.
