have a 1984 f150 4×4 with 302engine and 3 speed automatic trans.would like to change to 4 speed overdrive automatic.what year and type car or truck will interchange.

You can use an aod trans out of a 84-93 f150. You will need to get the kickdown linkage from a 84-85 f150. If you don’t hook up the linkage then you could have a shifting problem with the new trans.
