Question:
Rear motor stays on , will not turn off , tries all stalk positions . Have removed rear plastic liner , and must disconnect the wiper / pump to get it to stop on my 2004 Audi A3
Answer:
Your symptoms are consistent with a failed wiper motor relay. I replaced one for this very symptom last year. It is located on the central electric relay panel in positions V & VI (double relay). If you remove the under dash panel above the driver’s feet, up to the left you will see a relay panel with many relays. Along the bottom edge you will see a half dozen bolts with wires attached. In the first row of relays above this it will be the last relay to the right. I believe it’s the only double relay in this row. Being a European model not available in the States I do not have the electrical schematic for this year model. It is however in the same location for a 2004 A4 and VW Golf, so it is likely in the same location. To confirm it’s location and source of the malfunction, if you unplug it and the wipers stop, it is likely the cause.

As long as the cylinders have not been changed to accept a key other than the factory cut. You can supply the dealer with your vin# which can be located on your insurance card and they can look up the code that the vehicle was manufactured with. Many states require that copies be made by the dealership proving vehicle ownership before cutting a key for you.

If it’s an automatic the traction control should disable if you put the car in first gear, but the traction control will start working again once you shift out of first gear. There is no way that I know of to disable traction control in all four gears. But you can trick it by pulling up the park brake lever one click and that should do it.

The Hot/Cold blend door actuator is stripped out. This is why you hear a noiseand why it won’t move to hot air flow. Have it replaced.

Question:
hi i,m new to this site my ??? is i have a 97 honda civic and i wanna put a high flow racing cat on it but i was told if i did that it would mess my car up is this true?
Answer:
No, adding a high flow racing cat will not mess up you car in anyway. All it will do is become less restrictive and performance wise, you won’t notice any difference unless you have other modifications done and the cat is restricting the performance.
