QUESTION:

I have a 1993 Honda DX and I have a flashing D-4 light on dash indicating a transmission problem. What do you think could be the problem. The parts house can”t find the transmission filter type for this car –do you have a type or part #.. 

ANSWER:

There is no serviceable filter on those it has a screen inside but needs to be taken apart to access it . click here for a procedure to check codes watch both the check engine light and the D light see if you have any codes. Did you have the problem before the transmission was flushed? Honda only recommends doing drain and fills on them and also you should only use the Oe Honda trans fluid . Make sure the fluid level is correct you should check it with the engine at normal operating temp and the engine OFF.
