We need a diagram for the starter

Published by admin under Uncategorized

Question:

I need a diagram for the starter for a 1994 Mazda B2300 pickup, and the online repair information does not even reference it! Do you have one? We”re trying to figure out which post is connected to the battery wires.  We have installed the starter according to what we THINK is correct, have verified that the starter is good, but are not getting it to start. We think we’re not connecting it correctly.  The problem we have is which post on the starter to connect the large red wire to. We’re not sure. One of the posts has metal cabling attached to it that goes into the starter itself. Is that the one that should be connected to the large red wire?

Answer:

NO!!! If you attach it there the starter will begin to rotate. Attach it to the other post!!! I have added the wiring diagram for the starting system here: http://www.freeautomechanic.com/94-mazda-b2300-starting.pdf

The large red wire comes straight from the battery and the small red wire comes from the relay and connects to the “s” terminal.
